I realize I am not fully including the full statement here, but the headline just gets me...
The National Weather Service isn't Mincing Words on This One:

OK. See ~ they actually ARE mincing words on this one.
You either HAVE "certain death" or you don't.
Something MAY bring death or something IS certain death.
Another example of fine editing and a lack of understanding of the language...
